Many people do not want wedding rings or engagement rings of gold, platinum or palladium. They prefer tungsten rings or even stainless steel wedding rings, which have become popular over the past few years.
Apart from the aesthetic appearance, another advantage of stainless steel and sterling tungsten rings is that they are more pocket friendly. The materials used to make these rings are not expensive compared to precious metals. However, they have a manufacturing cost that, due to the effort, design and time spent in Tungsten rings or stainless steel ring is the same as if gold were used.
A characteristic of Tungsten ring or tungsten alliance is how well it resists. There is a lot of experience with this. It sells enough Tungsten rings hoop alone and also mixed with a greater amount of gold, which have a Tungsten ring base with a solid layer of gold. Usually the rings are made with denser Tungsten rings than the gold rings and last a long time.
Tungsten rings in its pure or "fine" state is so soft, that jewelers can easily shape it. You may have heard the MOH scale at some point in your science class. At the end of this scale is talc, with one; and at the beginning there is the diamond, the hardest of all natural materials, with 10. Precious metals in their pure state and in their alloyed state are placed in different categories.
However, when a Tungsten ring is used for an engagement ring and the gem is mounted, it is recommended to use gold. Fourteen karat white or yellow gold has the hardness 3.5 or 4 on the MOH scale, depending on the alloys used in the manufacturing process.
